Why black looks different on OLED
Traditional LCD displays use a backlight behind the liquid-crystal layer. Even when an LCD image is black, some light can still pass through the panel. That is why LCD owners may notice backlight bleed or a grayish glow in a dark room.
OLED is different. Its pixels are self-emissive, so an individual pixel can be driven to black by turning its light output off. This gives OLED displays their characteristic deep blacks and very high contrast.
A pure black browser page is therefore a useful practical check. If an OLED screen that should be showing pure black appears to have obvious bright areas, you can investigate further before deciding whether the behavior is normal, caused by settings, or worth discussing with the manufacturer.
